Love is patient, love is kind. . .

Happy Valentine's Day
I started the weekend thinking about all the things that I love so dearly and honestly I love my husband more than anything in this world.  He recently started a new job upon completing his culinary classes and now he is doing what he loves full time - cooking!  I couldn't be more proud of his many accomplishments but I am especially proud to say he is mine.
Often times love is patient and it is kind, but many times we forget to say how much we love the ones we are with and love the ones we may have lost.  Not a conversation goes by when my husband I don't end our conversation in the simple yet ever so powerful words, " i love you".  I truly don't know where I would be without him and with a whole heart I can say I feel loved by him too.

We get to celebrate our Valentine's day this Thursday, since Valentine's weekend and day are popular dining dates - hope all my family and friends are feeling extra loved on this special day, because you are loved, so LOVED!

b l i z z a r d 2 0 1 1

Blizzard, you say.  Oh my, I think I completely underestimated what a blizzard was.  We can hardly just say we got snow we got SNOW and thunder snow (didn't even know that was possible).  This morning waking up to a pure thick blanket of snow approximately 16 inches seemed like a perfect opportunity to just stay in bed, but we knew the driveway must be shoveled, but since it was still snowing and blowing all over the place, we put a hold on that so our first thought became...

....................... let's let the dogs out to play and Elvis was at first hesitant and Shadie wouldn't even leave the back door.  Eventually she went out and Elvis went dashing into the yard, he made huge leaps in the snow and almost appeared that he made a tunnel similar to what a groundhog would do.  Ironically today is groundhog day, poor groundhog only gets one day and mother nature took that away from him.  And to think he didn't see his shadow, which means only 6 more weeks 'til summer.  It actually seems like a joke on a day like today that spring is close, especially when there are mountains of snow.

Took about 3 hours for Chris and I to shovel our way through our driveway, sidewalks, and front walk, but we did it!  It felt like such an accomplishment and it was exhausting to say the least.

In this kind of weather I guess there is only one thing to do in this snow and that is to enjoy it, otherwise it's going to be a long rest of winter!
